Maintenance Controller

Maintenance Controller

The maintenance control position can be considered as the bridge between an airline’s maintenance department and its operations groups. The functions of the maintenance controller position involve timely and accurate communications between various departments, translation of aircraft faults between pilots and maintenance personnel, and coordinating contract maintenance events away from company maintenance facilities. The position also entails the control, tracking, and closing of the various forms of deferred items. Maintenance control is a challenging and rewarding position which requires a great deal of critical thinking as well as an astute knowledge of general aircraft systems and manuals.
